Brighton Cafes – Egg & Chips in Party Town
Red Roaster
The best coffee in town. Not to say that they don’t have other fine attributes – sandwiches, muffins, and all other manner of standard latte-accompanying fare – but if you are in need of a caffeine-based vein-injectory experience without parallel, then look no further than the operators of this bean-grinding centre of excellence. RR’s has it taped.
Shakeaway
This is Brighton’s (and possibly the World’s) best shake shop. Yes, milkshakes. Galore. Oozing out of every orifice. And when you see the menu, you won’t know which orifice you prefer (come on, this is Brighton after all). Anyway, the range is mouthwatering, the concept is too seductive to refuse, and the basic premise is, take a milkshake, make it any flavour you like, and find all sorts of lush stuff to cram into it to make your tastebuds tingle. Today I’m on banana with jelly tots and custard. Sweet!
Market Diner
Does what it says on the tin. Of Cash’n’carry quality baked beans. Brighton is crammed with the weird and wonderful, and this is where you’ll see them at their dogged, up all-night-raving, scraping the drug and booze haze out of their ears via a lard-intravenous of heartstopping proportions worst. Get all the best greasy fry-up ingredients, pile them on a single plate till they’re dripping onto the formica tabletop, and know that you’ll soon be home, sleeping off the fattest head of your life.

Infinity Foods Cafe
Bring a hemp bag. You’ll go away having filled it with nettle teabags, fairly traded houmous and organic wild rice. Infinity is true to Brightonian roots, a lovely place to feel alternative and choosy and frankly decadent in terms of the huge range of quality wholefoods on offer to the vegetarian shopaholic. But don’t forget to stop and sip a latte in the process, preferably accompanied by a halloumi open sandwich on one of their delicious shop-baked breads.
Sanctuary Café
More vegetarianism. But that is Brighton, and when in Rome…This place is fully attuned to the sensitivities of the modern, politically savvy but basically just hungry palate. Their chefs come from all over – Italy, Malaysia, Inverness – but they also know just how to make a fine salad leap off the menu at you, begging to be devoured. Just thinking about it is making me hungry. Lunch without meat doesn’t get any better.

Today, the art-deco structure of the central market is a centre for the display and development of Malaysian culture, arts and crafts. The building won the coronation architecture design award in 1953.

Petaling Street maintains much of its traditional atmosphere, particularly at night when vendors spread their wares out on the street. While it is possible to purchase anything from gems and incense to toys and t-shirts here, enjoying the night market is really a matter of just wandering about and enjoying its sights, sounds and energy.

Awaken the senses to the smell of incense, spices and curries wafting from every corner. A delightful experience not to be missed!
24 Hours in Penang
A good way to start off your day in Penang is to have a leisurely morning stroll at the Penang Botanic Gardens, located in Jalan Kebun Bunga. Look out for the Orchidarium, which houses about 200 species of wild orchids and a Cactus House which has 60 varieties of cacti.
10am
Rather than hopping in a taxi to go sightseeing, try the three-wheeled trishaw which still operates in certain parts of George Town. The first place to ask for should be Little India encompassing Market Street, Queen Street and King Street. This is a great place to shop for saris, accessories and souvenirs. Grab a hot roti canai for breakfast then make your way to the Penang Museum and Art Gallery on Lebuh Farquhar, showcasing old photographs, maps, charts, historical relics and paintings of early Penang.
1pm
Known as a food haven, you will never go hungry in Penang! After all that walking and touring, it’s time to refuel – try the famous assam laksa (a sour noodle soup where the broth is rich with mackerel, lemongrass, shallots and turmeric). The best is to be found near the Air Itam market. The food trail doesn’t stop here; make your way back down town to try the famous Penang Road Chendol in Lebuh Keng Kwee, off Penang Road. A sunny day on the island wouldn’t be complete without a bowl of this splendid Malaysian dessert.
2.30pm
The popular tourist belt along the Batu Ferringhi beach strip is not only the place to soak in some sun but it is also where Penang’s newest attraction is located – the Tropical Spice Garden (www.tourismpenang.gov.my) in Teluk Bahang. Spread over 3.2 hectares, this magnificent secret garden houses more than 500 varieties of flora from Malaysia and other regions.
5pm
If you want to take a break from all the walking, take this time to relax at the beach but if you’re still really pumped, you can partake in any of the water sport activities available from jet skiing and banana boat rides to paragliding, horseback riding and kayaking.
Nightlife
Popular clubs such Slippery Senoritas and Soho Free House located in Upper Penang Road and The Garage are where you want to be! These places dish out the best in contemporary dance music and live bands. If you just want to hang out and chat over drinks, there are many upmarket pubs and bistros nearby. For those with an insatiable appetite, roadside mamak stalls are open until the early hours of the morning!
The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Winner of 2008 Best Asian Marine/yacht Club
The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC) is a marina and a premier yachting and sailing club. The establishment is situated on the island of Langkawi (Kedah), Malaysia.
(Latitude 6o 18.2′ N, Longitude 99 o 51.1′ E, its main radio service being accessible at VHF Channel 69.)
In 2008, the Christofle Asia Boating Awards — the region’s premier sailing event, which celebrates the efforts of boat builders, marinas, clubs, enthusiasts and other like-minded individuals — crowned The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club with the title of Best Asian Marine / Yacht Club of the Year.
Former Commodore of the RLYC, Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah, has seen it fit to attribute the win to the dedication and hard work of staff, and the loyalty of members and supporters. RLYC Rear Commodore, Tunku Soraya Dakhlah Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah, also adds that the recognition would only increase Langkawi’s reputation and desirability as Asia’s premier sailing destination.
In brief, the award of Best Asian Marine / Yacht Club of the Year looked at and tips its hat to various features of The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.
Firstly, as a marina: The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club allocates some 205 berths for docking yachts. These berths vary in size and cater to a diverse range of crafts; in addition, six areas have also been designated for mega yachts (of up to 60m in length, and a low tide depth of 3 meters).
All berths enjoy electricity supply (single phase and 3 phase, from 32A to 100A), free water, wireless Internet access (spanning the whole club/marina), shower rooms/toilets, a swimming pool, 24 hours of security, maintenance services, laundry, fax, telephone services, and a supply of diesel fuel. Qualified professionals, equipped with the expertise to handle minor boat repairs and basic boat maintenance, are in attendance at all berths.
Then, as a club: The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club plays host to The Royal Langkawi International Regatta. First established in 2003, the event has managed to attract the biggest names from the international yacht racing and sailing crowd ever since.
As The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club has become an international melting pot of sorts, its two main restaurants, Charlie’s Place and Captain’s Deck, choose to reflect this status by treating its colourful guests to an equally varied culinary palate.
Charlie’s Place serves Malaysian and Western dishes, delectable cocktails and various beverages to accompany the picturesque sunsets and sensual bellows of the sea.
Captain’s Deck is far more adventurous, and its menu, featuring pan-Asian delicacies, panders toward the eclectic. Here, live music would serenade patrons, who are given the choice of savouring the fine dining experience from various locations on the penthouse deck (all of which display an arresting view of the marina and the azure blue sea). The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is quite capable of handling functions, and may accommodate up to 300 people at any one time.
There is something for everyone at the The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club: Those seeking play or peace of mind may be drawn to the waterfront swimming pool, jaccuzi and sauna. Deep-sea fishing, sailing, and scuba diving may fancy the inquisitive and hardcore sea-lovers. The audaciously daring should not hold back from experiencing the jet skis and speedboats.
The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club offers, through its Hocus Pocus, three outlets for the curious: The Boatique, a chandlery, featuring signature souvenirs, marine supplies and general items; The Bottle Shop, a duty-free wine and liquor outlet; and the Cyber Centre, an internet cafe.
If personal sightseeing and exploration is more to one’s liking, The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club allows guest to book tours, and charter yachts from the various offices within club premises. Guests may try exploring the island of Langkawi itself, which is abundantly laden with lush greenery, gorgeous (and historical) locations, an assortment of sea-based culinary delights, and folklore spanning some few centuries (oftentimes curiously interweaved with history.) A nearby island, Pulau Dayang Bunting, renown for its uniquely placed fresh water lake and scenic seaside, may also prove to be a tempting and irresistible draw for those with an affinity for natural beauty.
The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is both marina and club, and it strives to afford world-class facilities and a variety of leisure diversions to its distinguished guests.
The establishment warmly welcomes all to the experience.

The Secret Behind the Secret Science of Getting Rich Program (now Sgr Club) and How a Young Guy From Kuala Lumpur Made $100,000 in His Very First Mont
SGR stands for “The Science of Getting Rich”, which is the title of the 1910 Wallace Wattles classic on the Law of Attraction. In the SGR Program you’ll gain access to Bob Proctor, Michael Beckwith and Jack Canfield’s wealth of experience in helping people master this fundamental law, creating lives beyond their most imaginative dreams.
Maybe you already know Bob Proctor, Michael Beckwith and Jack Canfield. If you’ve watched The Secret, you’ll remember that all three of these highly successful motivational teachers were interviewed extensively. And because of the resulting demand for additional information and coaching, they’ve decided to join forces to present the SGR program.
Behind the scenes at the SGR Program have been happening exciting things since they have launched the SGR Club on September, 20th 2007. You can get more informations about the new enhancements and tools on our Website www.SGRcountdown.com
Not everyone can learn about the Law of Attraction in one day and start manifesting a new life a couple of weeks later. Most of us need specific steps to follow in order to move from a limiting mindset to a more expansive and rewarding one.
From the very beginning there was a young guy involved in the SGR program, who had a tremendous impact on the marketing efforts and the gigantic success of the SGR program. This young man is Brian Wong from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has had a lot of request from people asking him for information as to how he created over $100,000 within a month by using the Law of Attraction. He has been working on an efficient way to share this knowledge and he has finally completed it.
He created a new report “Law of Attraction Riches – How to make Serious Money with the LoA” included a 5-Step Success System with mostly free Web 2.0 services which is easy to follow. This report is free for every person to download on our Website www.LuckyFolks.com. The main thing is, every one can use the report to promote his or her own SGR business by customizing it with their own details.
Brian Wong also invites you to preview the free mentoring and training website that goes with the report. The link to the training website can be found within the report above.
His mission is to create a business system and resources that is accessible by anyone and at NO COST. He really wants everyone to know that the Law of Attraction exists and all they need to do is to apply it in their life. Also, they will get rich by teaching and sharing it!
Brian Wong also wants everyone making use of these free resources and step-by-step guide to successfully create a 6 figure income online. They have just to add their “desire” in order to make it happen.

Horses in Malaysia?
Yes plenty, from racing to dressage to jumpers and endurance there is polo even handicap riding programs! The country is lush even in the city center. The riding facilities are primarily in a club setting. Labor is inexpensive in Malaysia thus boarding (relative to our standards is inexpensive, 1350.00 Ringgit or roughly $ 125.US your horse will be groomed, mucked and provided with basic feed.
The barns we visited at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort were designed for the heat and humidity of south Asia. High ceilings lots of room for circulation, the days are hot but the stalls seem very comfortable. The stalls were kept very clean, manure is picked up and bagged for removal. The grooms worked their shed row much like our race tracks.
There are horses of many breeds in Malaysia and a variety of riding style there. Plenty of European trainers come to teach young and more mature riders. The Asian Classics (show jumping for qualified Asian riders) were held in conjunction with the FEI World Cup Show Jumping At Bukit Jahil Stadium about a half hours drive from the capital, Kuala Lumpur[1] According to the US show jumping team the footing, lighting and accommodations were all be exceptional. The horses there were housed in large box stalls and the barn, warm up arena and stadium are all air conditioned. Now, back home the thought of air conditioning a stable is a bit unordinary except in some of the very arid parts of the US, but here for this competition it is keeping the horses in a very controlled environment through out the competition.
On the east coast of the country, along the South China Sea, the Equestrian World Endurance Championships will be held in 2008. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu [2] along with five other Malaysian riders will compete at the World Endurance Championship in Germany this August to promote the event in Malaysia. The Terengganu Pony Club and a state owned Equestrian Club have been erected to rekindle interest in riding in that state.
The native pony in Terengganu is the Kuda Padi. On the Northeastern shores young Malaysians ride their ponies bareback and barefoot as fast as they can along the beaches and at local events. There is an annual Kelantan Equestrian Festival (Pesta Sukan Berkuda Kelantan). The Kelantan bareback riders dress their ponies and themselves in lavish textiles, splashed with wonderful colors and sequences. Truly a sight!
South East Asia is not the first place one would think to look for horses but they have them and it seems a past time many natives enjoy.
