Bukit Bintang, the Historic Uptown in Kuala Lumpur
Â
Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle is divided significantly into two main parts – the Kuala Lumpur city center (KLCC), and the Bukit Bintang. However, the Bukit Bintang is more like the adjoining neighbor, and extends from Jl. Raja Chulan, Jl. Imbi and Jl. Pudu over to Jl. Sultan Ismail up to Jl. Ampang.
Even though very famous and well known for its apparel shopping and recreational amenities, Bukit Bintang has now gradually transformed itself into a historical and sophisticated uptown in Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Bintang has got it all, ranging from the extremes of fashion to the finest cuisines. The place is the perfect place for fun, as well as business. A majority of offices are nearby and this makes it comfortable for daily commuting. There are many luxury and boutique hotels located around Bukit Bintang, as well as several budget accommodations.
The Bintang walk is through the Jalan Bukit Bintang shopping lane. This area has undergone a huge transformation since the last five years and is now easily one of the busier shopping places. The road is dotted by all types of stores, eateries, coffee cafes, clubs, etc. The Bintang walk is congested with hundreds of visitors, including locals, and the whole street is livened up by the customer frenzy. The excitement is not merely due to the shopping alternates available for a person. The presence of different recreational activities includes special ceremonies (New Year’s Day), parties, and other different types of festivities that are being held throughout the year on different occasions.
